Marie Antoinette is often incorrectly attributed the saying “let them eat cake” — there are several more likely oblivious monarchs who might have said this. Regardless, she certainly didn’t offer them champagne to wash the cake down.
Today’s 55%-off deal goes beyond even the charity of royalty, courtesy of The Terrace at Le Méridien Piccadilly: renounce just £25 to enjoy a Champagne Afternoon Tea for two at this five-star landmark — a £55 value. Indulge in a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade scones with strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream, French pastries, tea or coffee, and the pièce de resistance: champagne.
Drink in the breath-taking atmosphere of this timeless dining experience, with classic stone pillars and warm décor, all awash with natural light — this is the perfect royal treat to give to your princess consort for Valentine’s Day, or the Queen Mother for Mother’s Day. No need to revolt at the palace gates to grab this deal, though: simply click “Buy Now” for your regal treat.
Great deal for afternoon tea at a quality hotel in the centre of London! It’ll be hard to find such a good deal, although it is fair to say that if you did look around, you could find a comparable afternoon tea from a central London hotel for about £15-£18 per head. And that’s without the champagne!
The voucher for afternoon tea at Le Meridien is also valid until end of July, so lots of validity, and crucially for me, the afternoon tea deal is valid 7 days a week and anytime during the day. Often I have seen deals not valid on weekends (especially Saturday), or not valid during the peak afternoon tea times of 2pm to 5pm.
I’m buying one myself!
